How can you best occupy your time across all environments?

Picture of Bec's face in a forest

Why choose to work with me?

I am very interested in the contexts within which we exist - the systems which support us well and those which need strengthening - be it our families, our work, our friendship circles, our institutions, our spirituality and belief systems, aspirations and meaning we derive from our daily occupations.

I believe in understanding the roles you play, the routines you use, and the dynamics which make up your life.

I will use a mix of education, guidance, family therapy principles, counselling, arts and somatic therapies, developmental approaches and activities all underpinned by occupational science to witness you and your support systems as an ever-evolving organism.

This practice aligns with the neuro-affirming paradigm, situated within the social and human rights model of disability.  We embrace neuro-biological differences as a natural expression of human diversity, and therefore not as a deficit to be cured or fixed. We acknowledge there are enablers and barriers to any performance in occupation (activity in which we use to occupy our time).

We provide a safe and welcoming space for the LGBTQIA+ community

We acknowledge and lament the past and continuing plight of the traditional owners and custodians of the land, sea and waterways on which we work and live, and pay our respects to their Elders Past, Present and Emerging, and honour their communities and their  living culture.  We acknowledge that lutruwita (so called 'Tasmania') where we reside continues to provide the palawa with a meaningful connection to traditional food, ritual, medicine & craft as their way of being, doing and becoming.
