A card-sort suite of tools for supporting neurodivergent people.

ND PEOPLE utilises an occupational therapy framework called the PEO model which examines the interaction between an individual’s personal attributes, their environment and how that affects their participation in everyday occupations (activities).

How does it work?
Three core card decks:
50 individually hand drawn person cards depicting neurodivergent attributes
50 individually hand drawn environment cards featuring all kinds of places
50 individually hand drawn occupation cards featuring a variety of everyday activities

PLUS:
A PEO venn diagram board for placement of the cards.
A battery star to identify energy requirements
A worksheet to record all of the combinations
Enabler and barrier tokens

Add on decks include:
50 types of Glimmers cards
50 different Dopamenu options cards (sides, starters, mains, desserts)
50 different Workplace/School Accomodations cards
50 different Sensory Soothers cards
Activity Hacks cards (timers, sides, randomise, gamify)

ND PEOPLE not only explores how these three concepts interact, but also considers the enablers and barriers to performance. This is achieved through the lens of energy accounting or spoon theory.

We consider which of the three elements (PEO) enables a good fit, and which may be a barrier to achieving fit.
There are 5 batteries - social, emotional, cognitive, sensory and physical. Each battery has maximum 5 bars of power per activity.

Energy can be drained or charged in each to effect the performance of an activity in a certain context.
GOOD FIT - SPACE FOR PARTICIPATION

These three concepts are dynamic and the circles of the venn diagram move in or out depending on the particular balance of the elements. When the circles come together and overlap, there is more fit and when the circles move away from each other there is less fit.
POOR FIT - NO SPACE FOR PARTICIPATION
